Put on your dancing shoes\, grab a bite from one of the great vendors in The District and come vibe with us in the Plaza. \nMark Farina: 8-10pm\nDebbie Does Disco: 6-8pm \nMark Farina has solidified himself in the world of Dance Music as a trailblazing DJ\, Producer\, tastemaker and bona fide House Music icon. After 3 decades crisscrossing the globe\, he shows no signs of slowing down remaining innovative\, humble\, and firmly rooted in the underground. \n“I look at my job as a ‘modern-day traveling minstrel’ bringing new music to as many places as I can and exposing audiences to obscure records that otherwise might go hidden.” \nAs an early House Music pioneer in the late 80’s\, Farina’s history includes an impressive long-standing residency at Smart Bar Chicago and a job at the legendary Gramaphone Records. In the 90s\, Mark pushed musical boundaries and blended hip hop with downtempo grooves to create an entirely new genre\, “Mushroom Jazz”. Eventually\, Mark made San Francisco his home as his legendary DJ sets sparked a constant demand in clubs and festivals across the US. The Bay Area proved to be a perfect match for Mark’s musical vision and he released a string of major mix compilations including his Mushroom Jazz series. DESCRIPTION:Join us on Wellness Wednesdays for beginner-friendly yoga with Stefanie Tovar this Wednesday\, October 6\, from 6-7pm in The District. \nStefanie began her yoga journey as a performing artist in the practice of Baptiste Power Yoga in 2004.  Stefanie traveled internationally as a performing artist and found yoga gave her a sense of groundedness and solace\, no matter where her work and suitcases took her. \nWhile touring in her professional offering of performing arts\, Stefanie felt a feeling of isolation and disconnect from the world around her and craved an opportunity to hold space for herself and others to make a lasting impact. \nThe tragedy of losing a loved one suddenly hit her heart\, and she decided to make a big change; from the stage\, makeup\, and lights to the dark solace of the yoga room to process her grief\, sense of disconnect\, and isolation. \nInitially\, Stef thought she would get her Teacher Training Certificate and move to NYC to pursue her ambitions in the arts\, but love and yoga kept her in Texas.  It was there that she met her Bhakti Yoga Teacher Sean Johnson\, of Sean Johnson and the Wild Lotus Band who lead her back to her creative spirit…This time sharing her love of music and storytelling to help heal and renew through the sacred practices of Yoga Movements and Sounds. \nStefanie feels so blessed to have yoga and the arts back in her life and to be able to share love and wellness with all of her being with you in time and space no matter where this Journey takes us.
